Craig
Butler graduated from Art Center College of Design at
age nineteen, the youngest graduate of the college at
the time. After graduating he became an independent
graphic designer, designing record company ad campaigns
as well as album covers for such recording artists as
The Beach Boys, The Byrds and Frank Zappa. He began
in advertising with Doyle Dane Bernbach and later co-founded
Snyder/Butler Advertising, once again specializing in
music. In 1978 he formed Butler, Inc., using his design
experience to cover all aspects of the print medium.
For fifteen years his client roster included American
Isuzu, Vidal Sassoon, Richard Simmons, General Cinema,
Eastman Kodak, Max Factor, Century 21, Walt Disney Home
Video and ABC Entertainment. Since its inception over
twenty years ago, Butler has been the creative director
of The Workbook, the largest national sourcebook for
creative talent. He is active in the Art Directors Club
of Los Angeles and is currently president of the Art
Center Alumni.
