Conal
Robbie
Conal received his BFA from San Francisco State and
his MFA from Stanford University. Inspired by the Reagan
administration, he began making satirical posters of
politicians and bureaucrats who, by his reckoning, had
abused their power in the name of representative democracy.
Conal has created over fifty posters satirizing politicians
of both parties, televangelists and global capitalists,
and has developed an irregular guerrilla army of volunteers
to help put his posters up in the streets of major cities
across the country. His work has been featured on "CBS
This Morning," "Charlie Rose," and in
Time, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington
Post and The Wall Street Journal. Conal has been awarded
several grants, including this years Los Angeles
Cultural Affair Individual Artist Grant, and is an adjunct
lecturer at the School of Fine Arts at the University
of Southern California.
