Porto
James
Porto uses any number of darkroom camera techniques
to arrive at a more unique and unusual photograph. This
became the guiding principle in his work throughout
photo school (Rochester Institute of Technology, B.S.,
1982), and in his early career as a photographer. Some
clients include Adidas, Absolut, Blue Man Group, Compaq,
Epson, Motorola, Nike, Reebok, Seagrams, Sony and Texas
Instruments. Atlantic Records, Elektra, CBS Records,
Universal Records, LaFace Records, American Photo, Fortune,
Forbes, Glamour, GQ, The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek,
Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Time and most notably
Wired have used Portos unique, digitally manipulated
imagery. Porto has also been creating a body of fine
art work, which has been exhibited in Photology gallery
in Milan as well as in Soho. He is currently looking
for a publisher for his series of winged women images.
