Mike
Salisbury has been a graphic designer, art director,
agency creative director, writer, photographer and teacher.
He launched Mike Salisbury Communications in 1980 and
is the creator of Joe Camel, Levis 501 Brand,
the Jurassic Park logo and Michael Jacksons solo
look. Salisbury has been published in Rolling Stone,
Mens Journal, Hot Rod, Gotcha, Playboy, Penthouse,
Surfer, Surfing, Esquire, Time, Newsweek, Vogue, Forbes
and the London Times. His work can also be seen in the
films Moulin Rouge, Basic Instinct, Planet of the Apes,
Aliens, Apocalypse Now and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Other clients include MGM Grand, Mirage, Bellagio, Larry
Flynt, Suzuki, Honda, Hasbro and Mattel, as well as
recording artists Rickie Lee Jones, Ry Cooder, Randy
Newman and Dick Dale. Salisburys art has been
exhibited at the Library of Congress, the British Library,
the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian, the Art Center,
Otis, Chouinard, USC, the Laguna Art Museum and the
Orange County Museum of Art.
